ACTIVE STRETCH & MASSAGE
with Patrick Kincart of BendBodyWorks
Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is a muscle stretching and strengthening technique that allows for a gradual, gentle stretch of the specific muscles to maximize its length, flexibility and power. Also known as the Mattes Method, AIS was developed some 40 years ago by Aaron Mattes, a Florida kinesiologist. This technique restores the greatest level of function to the muscles, tendons, vertebrae, ligaments, and joints. One of its most important benefits is that AIS promotes stronger superficial and deep muscle fascial structures, which can create greater overall power through increased flexibility and strength.
AIS has been described, as “assisted therapeutic stretching,” since the trained practitioner coaches the patient to more effectively and gently stretch a muscle that he or she may have thought was inflexible. Once learned, these stretching skills can be used by the patient to stretch daily at home.

MASSAGE WITH KRISTI KASKO
Kristi's education and passion for massage therapy and the healing arts began in 1998, when she became a certified massage therapist upon completing her training at Starfire Massage School & Healing Center in Missoula, Montana. Her practice includes various spa, clinical, and private practice settings both here in the States & in Europe during her 13 years living overseas. Kristi's sessions integrate Swedish flow, Deep Tissue Massage, Thai, Neuromuscular Therapy, & Acupressure with a deep energetic component. She is certified in Aromatherapy & enjoys offering Pre-natal massage as well. In Hungary, Kristi also studied Core Energetic & Spiritual Body Clearing. She also offers energetic healing sessions focused on clearing the energetic bodies, chakra balancing, auric cleansing, combined with Reiki.
Kristi's massage: She offers the client an experience that is individualized, sensitive, adaptive in technique crossing modalities tailoring to the need, nurturing but powerful and with flow. Her sessions are focused on leaving the client more deeply connected with themselves, more at home in their body, enjoying less restrictive pain free movement.
Kristi says, " I have the ability to give a very deep massage while maintaining a very fluid and nurturing touch. Massage asks me to bring my full presence and awareness with another in the moment, listen, & respond. My goal is to help the body remember its healthful state, to be a facilitator of the healing process. I am so grateful to be doing this work!"
In her free time, Kristi enjoys the outdoors, time with her family, hiking and kayaking, the world of dance as a performer, music and rhythm.
Kristi is available at Namaspa Bend on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
Please call Kristi at 814-384-2980 to schedule an appointment.
MASSAGE WITH SUZIE NEWCOME
When I became a yoga teacher 12 years ago, I ALSO completed a 500hr training to become a massage therapist. I created the name "Namaspa" to bring these two holistic practices together - yoga and massage are both ideal to release the daily build up of physical and mental tension, and to enhance social connections and an overall experience of support and health. Since then, I have done extensive trainings in Deep Tissue and Thai Massage.
Relaxation massage - Swedish based strokes and light pressure designed to promote circulation and deep relaxation.
Deep Tissue massage - Slow, focused pressure at a depth just right for you to release inherent tightness from muscle knots, scar tissue or adhesions, promoting relief from joint pain (low back, shoulders, knees, hips)
Thai massage - Playfully called "lazy person's yoga", this is a fully assisted yoga practice on a floor mat (wear light, cotton clothing with long sleeves); promotes relaxation and helps release energy blocks.
Suzie is available at: Namaspa Bend on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Saturdays
Namaspa Redmond on Thursdays.
Please contact Suzie at (541) 241-0270 to schedule an appointment.
REFLEXOLOGY & DIEN CHAN ZONE WITH BELLA MARTINEZ
Bella Martínez is a mother, a certified Dien Chan Zone operator + reflexologist, a committed yogini, a creative visionary, a radical facialist and a student of energy + massage in Bend, Oregon.
Her focus is on eastern modalities of reflexology, skincare and bodywork. In her past, she received a 200-hr certification from a yoga school, Dharma Yoga, in Austin, TX influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. She was also the assistant spa director and lead licensed esthetician of Yäan Wellness Spa in Tulum, Mexico. She also had worked with some beautiful art foundations and non-profit communities on the border. She made the big move to Oregon after living in Texas + Mexico her entire life, so that she may co-parent with her little one’s father which has all proved to be the best decision to ground in Bend. Most recently, she has been dedicating her time to her studies in bodywork and offering Dien Chan Zone facial reflexology treatments. She is the only certified practitioner in Bend to proudly offer this service that has just recently been introduced to the United States and Canada. She holds a sacred space for transformation through a heart-centered approach and focus encouraging self-healing .
Dien Chan Zone® is a technique from Vietnam which has been adapted, de-coded and refined to Western standards in Italy. Incorporating principles and teachings of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it treats symptoms in the body via stimulation of zones on the face to repair and prevent imbalance of every kind and can be used both on its own or as a compliment to allopathic measures. Due to it’s proximity to the brain, in terms of response— it is the fastest acting of all Eastern Therapies.
As other forms of reflexology, we have receptors on our skin corresponding to internal organs and our muscular skeletal system. When stimulated on the face we activate the bodys own innate wisdom and capacity to self-heal & self-regulate its functions through a response to the areas our body is in need of.
The facial reflexology treatments are deeply nourishing and offer incredible, often immediate results.
Each session is tailored to your specific needs; It includes an in-depth consultation, a next-level sonic journey while reflexology session is taking place, and as an integral piece of this practice, I provide you with a customized facial map as well as at-home instructions for self-massage of the face to continue the work on your own for 21 days.
Most treatments last 30 to 60 minutes and take place lying comfortably on a facial table, fully clothed with your head facing upwards. Many fall asleep, others enter a deeply meditative state and some feel sensations around their body.
One client used these words to describe how she felt after her first treatment: Bliss, Euphoria, Melty, Fluttery, “My heart feels like it could burst in the best way.” “You released something awesome.”
Depending on the current health/body issues, treatments are recommend 1 time a week with regular home care massage on specific points that correlate with your specific issue. (Digestion, allergies, circulation, hormonal, skeletal etc.)
This treatment is NOT recommend for those who have had any type of Botox or fillers unless it has been 6 months and those who are currently taking prescribed pharmaceutical drugs such as anti-depressants.
